Meet Head
Coach Dennis Franchione and His Staff |

"At a lot of places they just play
football. At Alabama they live it."
Dennis Franchione
Head Football Coach
The University of Alabama |
On December 1, 2000, University of Alabama Athletic Director
Mal Moore made it official: The Alabama Crimson Tide had a new Head Football
Coach.
Dennis Franchione (fran-CHO-nee) became Alabama's 24th
Head Coach after a 3-year stint at Texas Christian University. His
success in rebuilding the Horned Frogs' after a 1-10 season in 1997, to a
10-1 regular season in 2000, is part of what attracted Mal Moore to
Franchione. The fact that he understood the Tradition of Alabama
Football - even though he had never been to Tuscaloosa prior to being
introduced as the Tide's new Head Coach - speaks highly of the man.
