Meet Head Coach Dennis Franchione and His Staff

"At a lot of places they just play football.  At Alabama they live it."

Dennis Franchione
Head Football Coach
The University of Alabama

On December 1, 2000, University of Alabama Athletic Director Mal Moore made it official: The Alabama Crimson Tide had a new Head Football Coach.

Dennis Franchione (fran-CHO-nee) became Alabama's 24th Head Coach after a 3-year stint at Texas Christian University.  His success in rebuilding the Horned Frogs' after a 1-10 season in 1997, to a 10-1 regular season in 2000, is part of what attracted Mal Moore to Franchione.  The fact that he understood the Tradition of Alabama Football - even though he had never been to Tuscaloosa prior to being introduced as the Tide's new Head Coach - speaks highly of the man.
